A Coffee Roaster in Black Mountain Blows the Lid off Expectations

Upon first glance, your first impression of Dynamite Roasting might be of an unassuming little coffee shop on Route 70 approaching Black Mountain. It looks like nothing special, a cute but small building with a wrap-around deck, half a dozen tables, and—in this COVID-19 era—a walk-up window to place your order. When Capital at Play first profiled Dynamite back in 2013, the company had just turned five years old and was roasting 100,000 pounds of green beans a year. Now, nearly eight years later, that output has grown to 250,000 pounds, with another blast heating up as they settle into their new, expanded headquarters which houses a new, larger—much larger—roaster.
