DURHAM

Parata Systems, a company specializing in automated pharmacy solutions, is bringing all its operations under one roof. The new, two-story, 100,000 square-foot headquarters is being built by Brookwood Capital Partners to sensibly accommodate manufacturing and distribution operations and corporate offices. Collaboration space was a recurring theme in the design, as evidenced by ample conference rooms, unprogrammed space, and a break room equipped to handle team events. As added features, prospects and clients will get to test-drive equipment in a hands-on, mock-up pharmacy known as the Vision Center; and members of the public will be able to tour the facility, observing manufacturing processes through glass walls. Parata’s operations have been dispersed since 2007, when the company acquired a number of businesses and decided to stop outsourcing its manufacturing.
