I never meant to open a brick-and-mortar store with my business partner, Nicole Hairfield. It sounds rather odd, but it happened by accident.
We decided to go into business together in early 2015; she had a background in art, and my expertise was in sales and website development. We wanted to put our skills together to sell handmade goods online.
Today, Moonlight Makers is a brand of funny t-shirts, dish towels, and merchandise which we design and screenprint ourselves, but we started off just making wall prints and jewelry. When we first launched our website, it was to the sound of crickets. I knew face-to-face sales, but I was unfamiliar with online selling.
