Updating Your Existing Home Might be the Answer to Your Home Dreams

With the rise in popularity of home remodel shows like Fixer Upper, Flip or Flop, and pretty much anything on HGTV, the market for renovating homes is high. The National Home Builders Association interviewed builders, and there was an overwhelmingly positive response in the market for remodeling. When I mention that we are a home builders association, it might not bring to mind the many builders in our area who regularly partake in remodeling jobs, but these are an important part of our construction (and Asheville Home Builders Association) community, so much so that remodeled homes are a feature in our Parade of Homes and a major part of our Spring Expo, “Build and Remodel.”  

Our region is flush with home builders ready to not only build new homes, but also remodel ones that don’t meet current needs. Hiring a professional for any job is important, but never more so than when you are making changes to the place you call home. With that being said, let’s explore why you might choose to hire someone to remodel rather than build new. While some reasons are more obvious than others, all are more practical than for television entertainment.
