KPMG Australia, Commonwealth Bank (CBA), and Microsoft have partnered to develop cloud-based enterprise resource planning for small and midsize businesses. The product will be sold by a new company, Wiise, which will launch in July and operate out of the Stone & Chalk fintech coworking space in Sydney. The collaboration was inspired in part by Microsoft’s Financials for Office 365, and it draws on CBA’s knowledge of banking and KPMG’s expertise in business consulting to affordably provide smaller companies resource planning technology that had previously only been available to enterprise-scale operations. On a single platform, users will be able to perform accounting, payroll, banking, human resources, inventory, and manufacturing functions. What’s more, the software may be integrated with other software, like Microsoft Office 365 and CBA’s invoicing and secure payment systems. Users will also be able to use the software to inquire about and apply for certain financial products. The platform, unlike most aspects of a business, will be scalable to grow with company size.
